We’ve got it in our heads that we need to make changes quickly
So much of life is fast paced
There’s not one morning in there week where we can get out the door relaxed carefree. There’s always somewhere to be. In fact, I’m writing this whilst shoving food in my mouth.
Information like this (where you have to read) is dropping in popularity in favor of fast paced entertaining 30s snips of info.
With life running at 100 all the time it’s easy to want to tick off our goals and tick them off quickly.
Get strong ✔️
Lose 10kg ✔️
Become flexible ✔️
By yesterday…❌
I see it at the gym, teens standing on the scales. Literally every afternoon, seeing how much muscle they’ve hopefully put on
(I was guilty of this too back in the day)
But if you could stop and think about it (if you ever get the chance) these changes never came about quickly.
You didn’t suddenly wake up one day unfit, overweight and weak.
That’s a result of small actions (or inaction) that compounded daily across years
If more people took this approach to their training, they would enjoy the journey a hell of a lot more. They would stick to the actions that deliver the goods.
Ironically, they too would be the ones that actually reach their goals sooner!
No more yo yo dieting, gym hopping, or useless distractions.
Just the basics, done well, compounding slowly over time.
