Damn – This list is getting pretty long!
I’ll stop.
But I can guarantee you the fads wont.
Here’s why:
Weight loss is hard and for obvious reasons & often confusing.
When struggling to see results, the new ‘thing’ whatever it is, is always tempting.
“THIS will be the thing that transforms my body” – and so it gains traction.
Here’s the thing, different people will have success with different approaches.
But it’s important to recognize the underlying commonality.
Eating less & moving more.
e.g. Some may love intermittent fasting because they feel like it’s not restrictive. They can still eat the foods they love and lose weight!
For others it doesn’t work – they simply eat more when they’re ‘allowed’
Going back a step, when I say eating less, I don’t mean eating less food.
What!?
I mean eating less calories.
There’s a difference.
Wholefoods fill your plate. Processed foods just fill your calories.
Finding the strategy that helps you do this is the winner.
With one caveat – you can sustain it long term.
I’ve seen plenty of short-term success stories.
Regardless of your sworn strategy a few things hold true that will help with the eating less side of the coin.
Eat Protein, Carbs & Fat in that order.
Geeze. thanks Ben you really narrowed it down there!
That’s the point.
We need a balanced diet.
Eating a variety of wholefoods (lots of volume, lots of fiber) will leave you satisfied not starving.
