How can we help you eat what you need to eat, to get the results you want to get?
Whatever depth of knowledge you have around nutrition – we all know what to do.
If I had a basic questionnaire or a table of food and asked you to choose the ‘good’ choices vs the ‘bad’ you’d nail it.
Years ago, I had a friend stay with me for a few months who always struggled with their weight.
I never mentioned weight loss or watched what I served him, he just ate with me, however much he wanted.
A few months later he’d lost close to 10 kgs! Never once did he say he was hungry, or even think about weight loss.
I don’t say this to blow smoke up my own ass. But here was a guy who, like you, could pick the ‘good’ choices. Yet was still struggling with weight loss.
I’d love to help you all in the same way – but logistically this isn’t going to work.
I don’t own a 100-bedroom mansion, and you can take a hike if you think I’m ‘cooking’ for you all.
So genuinely how can I help?
If you already know the correct choices? What’s holding you back?
Here’s my guess – and it’s only a guess so PLEASE tell me if I’m way off the mark.
-
You’re conscious of what you eat because you want to lose weight.
-
So when the time comes to eat (breaky lunch dinner) you chose the ‘right’ things, but you limit how much you eat, you hold back. Even missing a meal altogether.
-
Then later on, because you’ve held back, cravings, snacks, old habits creep back in.
-
The ‘wrong’ foods fill up the mealtime void.
-
Because the ‘wrong’ foods were chosen, our inbuilt control mechanisms are disrupted.
-
The messages telling us how hungry or full we are, get a little crazy.
-
Because of this, we probably ate more than we should along the way.
-
Now we’re frustrated, because all our efforts at mealtime netted no real reward.
-
So, we eventually throw in the towel there too – ‘what’s the point’ mentality.
-
As such our inbuilt control mechanisms get hijacked further….
and here we are…
Or at least something like this is happening right?
Food is meant to be enjoyed.
When you sit down to eat, eat!!
Provided you’ve chosen the ‘right’ foods, your body will figure out the rest.
True. Maybe not at first – gradually as we restore health to our receptors in most cases your body will figure it out.
Focus on real foods. Ensure each meal contains protein fiber and water (the things that keeps us full). Prioritise the protein.
Then satiated, a small occasional snack won’t be enough to throw your receptors off course.
This is when we start winning.
If this doesn’t resonate at all for you but it’s something you struggle with – please reach out. I’m genuinely interested in finding out how we can help.
