On Thursday afternoon Georgie and I drove to the hunter for a wedding. A stinking hot day, handing out umbrellas to shield us from the sun.
Not knowing anyone there I spent the night sat next to one of Georgie’s friend’s husband.
This bloke literally towered over me, 6 foot something with arms the size of my legs.
He is considered one of Australia’s leading residential sales agents. His success didn’t come easy though- he was hell bent on achieving this mission.
Focused and disciplined. It seeped into all aspects of his life with health and fitness being a strong pillar and now passion.
With the same drive he used to achieve his real estate empire he applied to his health.
As you know, anyone wanting to compete at the pinnacle has to leave no stone unturned. He did just that to becoming Aus leading agent.
Using this formula and applying it to his health, he now lives a very regimented life.
-
Ice bath + sauna daily
-
One body part training per day, 5 exercises, little rest
-
No alcohol
-
2 meals per day
-
50+ supplements per day
-
Bed at 8:30pm
-
20 min sun exposure
-
20 min walk after meals
& no doubt a few more….
I felt for the poor bloke, 100kgs of pure muscle going 8 hours without eating. The food on offer didn’t fit his nutritional plan.
As small talk continued, I asked where he goes for his after-meal walks?
His answer gives you an insight to his level of dedication. He literally walks in circles up and down his driveway, for 20 min, every day!
I got home the next day to find the back yard covered crap (you’ll remember – it was extremely dry and very windy).
As I was out there with the rake in hand I smiled & got the idea for this blog. I was picturing him walking in circles on his drive. Here’s me rake in hand also ticking all the boxes
-
Improved digestion
-
lower blood glucose
-
Lower triglycerides
-
Increased fat metabolism
-
Improved mental function (this one’s arguable)
Here’s a man so successful. All the hired help one could dream of, yet did that luxury steal a basic requirement for healthy living.
Movement?
Cleaning the cars, raking the lawn, vacuuming, doing the laundry and so it goes on.
You might hear certain things on social media, health podcasts or even his (yes, he has one of those too). Perhaps you are feeling guilty about plonking your ass on the couch right after eating your meal.
Your digestion hampered, blood sugar levels high.
Or some other piece of advice you’re not doing. Whilst technically this what you’ve heard may be true, it’s a miniscule piece of the pie. It fails to recognise the day/week on a macro level.
Chances are all things considered you’re doing just fine.
