I’ve done a full 180!

2 weeks ago I Said Sports Specific Strength Training is a Joke

Now I’ve done a full 180.

Strength Training is vital for your sports performance.

Or have I? Read that again.

STRENGTH training is vital for your sports performance.

This may be surprising, but I’ve seen it over and over again.

Elite level sports men and women with decades of experience yet a novice level of strength.

And I mean novice – like unable to stand up from a full body weight squat.

Honestly this is something I’ve had to wrap my head around. Especially coming from my background in strength & conditioning. I had always assumed they went hand in hand. Strength & Sporting Performance.

The fact elite sports performance is even possible without strength training was a bit of a shock.

But for those living it. Here’s the exciting part, you are already amazing at what you do. Imagine where you can take your game when you add strength into mix!

Seriously you have no idea.

You’re already elite on the field. Strength training is your low-hanging fruit. Fast gains, big motivation, while extra pitch time now yields diminishing returns.

To every sports man or woman out there NOT in the gym. Please jump at this opportunity for the massive improvement sitting right in front of you – you won’t regret it.
