For those who don’t know, we recently welcomed a baby boy, Kai, into the family.
As you can imagine, the early days are… let’s call it character building on the whole “rest and repair” front. A human design fault, if you ask me.
Nine months of hormonal chaos, physical strain, broken sleep from being huge and uncomfortable, and endless toilet trips. Then hours and hours of labour on top of that.
Perfect. Now you’re “ready”.
With nothing left in the tank – here’s a newborn who will keep you up all night. Good luck.
Honestly, babies should sleep for two weeks straight after birth just to give Mum a fighting chance. But no. Not how it works.
I digress.
The other morning, I was driving my eldest to daycare. I yawned and said, “Mate, I’m tired.”
He hit me with his four years of wisdom:
“Don’t worry Dad, once you go to the gym and exercise you won’t be tired anymore.”
And isn’t that the truth.
So many of us used to let being tired, low energy, or “busy” stop us from starting. We didn’t know the magic on the other side.
But now we do, the same thing my son already understands.
Let’s spread that encouragement to the people still stuck in the dark. Share your stories. Show your friends and family what happens when training becomes a must, not a maybe.
